Bird Lover's Tea

"Sweet bird!  thy bow'r is ever green,
 Thy sky is ever clear;
thou has't no sorrow in thy song,
 No winter in thy year."
-  John Logan

"To me, the garden is a doorway to other worlds; one of them, of course, is the world of birds.  The garden is their dinner table, bursting with bugs and worms and succulent berries."
-  Anne Raver

Snow drops from my garden.

I just love this book I found at Joann's Fabric and crafts store.
Tilda's Studio by Tone Finnanger.
The whole book is just brimming with eye candy.

Included is a pattern for this sweet Tilda doll.
Isn't she adorable?

All of the photos in the book are absolutely gorgeous.

Pretty bird tags and fabric cut out birdcages.
I wish I could show you everything but
then this would be an awful long post.

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

When Irish eyes are smiling, sure 'tis like a morn in spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter you can hear the angels sing,
When Irish hearts are happy all the world seems bright and gay,
And when Irish eyes are smiling, sure, they steal your heart away.

~Chauncey Olcott and George Graff, Jr.

Hello, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
We had a nice one with sunny skies and a nice time
for walking in the park.

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.

~Irish Blessing

One of my lucky finds, even though it was missing it's lid.

Some Blues In My Kitchen

"Where we love is home.
home that our feet may leave,
 but not our hearts."
  Oliver Wendell Holmes

Just a few pictures of the blue and white transferware in my kitchen cabinet.
I cut snowdrop from my garden and they look so pretty in the vintage spice container.

The blue goblet was my M.I.L. and the figurine my grandmothers.

Teacups And Pink Camellias

The flowers of late winter

and early spring occupy places

in our hearts well out of

proportion to their size.

~Gertrude S. Wister

Hello everyone,  How was your week? Mine was great.
We had beautiful weather here, sunny and in the seventies.
Just last week we had a severe ice storm. It damaged many
of our trees and left us without power. We we're so
lucky to have a gas fireplace which kept us warm
thru the outage.

One of my favorite flowers that blooms at this time
of year is the Camellia Japonica. This one is a formal
double and I love it's gorgeous pink color.

I thought this color looked pretty with some
of my tea cups so I played with my camera
a little bit. China, flowers and pearls look
so romantic together.

Camellia oracle of winter bliss
You are the promise of springs renewal
Midst the slumbering landscape
Like winters splendid jewel

 Your miracle of life
So delicate and so sweet
You adorn Victorian homes
Upon these earthly streets

The beauty of your elegance
Your fragile blossom lingers
The softness of your petals
Pass through my waiting fingers

 I celebrate your symmetry
Your absolute perfection
Creation of that Life divine
You are but God's reflection

You are a life long lesson
A song that's ever sung
From the deepest winter spell
You bring forth the morning sun

Thank you for stopping by.

Hearts And Flowers Tea

AFTERNOON TEA

My copper kettle

whistles merrily

and signals that

it is time for tea.

The fine china cups

are filled with the brew.

There's lemon and sugar

and sweet cream, too.

But, best of all

there's friendship, between you and me.

As we lovingly share

our afternoon tea.

~Marianna Arolin

Halloween Tea Vignettes

Children's Halloween Song

Halloween, The witch is flying high.
Have you seen her shadow in the sky?
Oh beware, don't you dare, even boast, or
a ghost, to your dismay, may hear you say,
you don't care, say a prayer... or it may
come, and pull, your hair...

~anonymous

We have had such beautiful weather here
lately. Perfect fall days for taking the dog
for walks in the park. With Halloween
