Pink Birdcage

Oh That I Had Wings~
The bird let loose in Eastern skies,
returning  fondly home.
Ne’er stoops to earth her wing, nor flies
where idle warblers roam.
But high she shoots through air and light,
above all low delay,
Where nothing earthly bounds her flight,
nor shadow dims her way.
~Charles Lamb (1775-1834)

The Garden Shed

It was just a weathered garden shed,
In the shadow of a tree,
With faded boards and sagging door,
But a wonderment to me.
Inside upon the wooden floor,
Were garden tools and things,
The smell of leaves when they are dry,
Such memories they do bring.
days when I was but a child,
We'd visit Uncle George,
And he would give me Blackjack Gum,
A friendship we would forge.
And just outside his garden shed,
Was a fish pond with a bridge,
I'd love to relive all those days,
Oh, the things I wouldn't give!
That time has passed, I'm older now,
But this one thing I know,
I'll cherish all those childhood days,
As my dark hair turns to snow.

Tea at Tupper Farm

Come out into the garden with me,
we'll sit and have a cup of tea.
We'll talk about our busy day,
there's so much we have to say.
I'm so blessed to have a friend like you,
to share in everything I do.
~Helena (c) Maryanna

Saturday was a beautiful day, so I lay out one of my quilts under the swing .

I cut fresh pink Spirea and put them in one of my vintage milk bottles.

Add one garden hat a Victoria magazine and some plump pillows.

This is the back of one of my small quilts.

I love Southern Lady Magazine. It is from the same publisher as Victoria Magazine but it is all about the South.

A picture from an old Marjolein Bastin weekly planner. She is one of my favorite nature artists.

I found the vintage pink wicker tray at the thrift store last week.

This pretty rose spray cup doesn't have a mark but the plate is from Austria.

My little cream pitcher is Royal Danube and  the plate it is sitting on is Haviland France Limoges.

Vintage pink wicker sewing basket.

Please join me in a cup of tea.

Beside My Garden Gate

My garden blooms with roses rare,
 And trees where nestlings mate.
In early spring when soft winds sigh,
Around my garden gate.
A rustic seat is hidden where,
Both joys and sorrows wait.
Where trumpet vine and daffodils,
Bloom round my garden gate.
When woes beset on every hand,
And sorrow seems my fate.
I grab my hat and spend an hour,
Beside my garden gate.
I bid my troubles all adieu,
Until a later date.
And find a peaceful haven there,
Beside my garden gate.
~ Blanche Elder Crispin

What can be prettier than Hydrangea?  I love all of the colors. My friend Betsy has a variegated variety that is so pretty and unusual. When they bloom, I'll take a picture of them to post.

A little bird feeder in the garden. That's a lizard's tail you see.  He wouldn't move so I could take the picture.

Pink eye Impatiens sitting next to a little boy and his rabbit. I love cute statues especially ones with rabbits.

Blossom just starting to bloom

A silk wreath I got from a beautiful gift- decor shop called Primrose Lane.

Have a lovely week.
