Swinging Pinks

The Swing
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

~Robert Louis Stevenson~

I have had this little iron bed for years ( I also have the side bars)  It has been sitting in my attic, because I don't have a place to put it now that I've moved  to my new home.

These are all pictures of my little posy quilt  sitting on an old antique swing.

Thank you for stopping by and have a Happy Pink Saturday.

Hi Clara: Your pink is all so pretty. The quilt is beautiful. We had a little bed just identical to yours that we bought for a room we fixed up when our grandson was born. When he was big enough to sleep in it on visits, he decided that the windows were too open in the room and he was afraid to sleep there, so he slept on the sofa and from then on, whenever he came, he slept on the sofa. It sat in the room for many years until we sold it at my daughter's fund raiser garage sale for breast cancer a couple of weeks ago. Oh, well, went to a good cause and I love him anyway. Love the swing poem..Happy Weekend..Judy

I love all your pink quilts! What I could do with that bed in my garden!! I would set it up and plant flowers between the two ends! Lots and lots of flowers!

The swing poem is cute and your pink quilt with the spirea flowers has brought a smile to me. We're getting much needed rain and I can't garden for a few days but have happy memories of an old swing like yours.
Enjoy your weekend Clara.

Keep your little bed. One day you will have just the right spot far it. Noting I enjoy or love more than quilts. Yours is a real nice one.

The shadows simply serve to accentuate the pink--and how that quilt glows!

Oh I love this poem! This brings back happy memories. I used to walk to the playground to swing all the time. It's where I met my best friend, a very long time ago. Your quilt is so pretty. I have a soft spot for pink quilts.
I hope you have a very nice week!

Love the poem - I knew it was going to be by Robert Louis Stevenson as soon as I started reading it:) It's a really pretty summery quilt - it's a shame you haven't room for the bed, the quilt would look perfect on it.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I love to hear from you. ~Clara~
