Tea With Tasha Tudor

“If you took some chamomile tea and spent more time rocking on the porch in the evening, listening to the liquid song of the hermit thrush. you might enjoy life more. Joy is there for the taking.”
~Tasha Tudor

Hello everyone,
Today I am celebrating Tasha Tudor day with a little tea. Tasha was an artist, crafter and an illustrator of children's books. She passed away June 18, 2008 and tomorrow Aug. 28th would have been her 96th birthday.

Tasha Tudor from an article in Victoria Magazine. This is one of my favorites.

Just a simple tea with simple china. The blue bird teacup is one of my newest and was a bargain .  It doesn't have a mark. The plate is from the thrift store. Crown Royal Doulton~ England.

Buttermilk biscuits and peach preserves.

The little jam jar was a gift from my mother-in-law many years ago.

The little bee tea bag holder is Suzanne Nicoll- Andrea by Sadek.

Tea/coffeepot is Country French Ironstone. from Sears back in the early 80's

Clara - Tasha Tudor was so inspirational. I'll raise a cup of tea to her tomorrow as well. Her beautiful farm, her lovely corgis and her animals and flowers. I think she had all the right ideas about living your best life. J

I discovered Tasha Tudor many years ago via a book about her that I bought at Williamsburg. Since then I think I've acquired all the books about her life that are available along with the two videos that came from the family website. I would love to live the life that she did but that is never going to happen I'm afraid other than in daydreams. Think I shall get all my Tasha books etc out and read them again for inspiration.

Hi Clara, I loved reading about Tasha Tudor. I remember that article in Victoria. She has always fascinated me and I would have loved to have toured her gardens. Love your beautiful tea setting. the bluebird cup is precious. I have a cute bluebird teacup and saucer. It was given to my for Christmas one year by my youngest son. He worked at one of the oldest restaurants in Utah while going to college. It is located in Logan and is called the Bluebird cafe. It is such a fun old fashioned place to dine. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
Hugs,
Jann
