Cupid's Clock

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That it can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow ~source

Hello everyone,
How has your week been so far? Today I'm sharing my
 Cupid's Clock for Valentines Day.  I found
him at an antique store years ago. He doesn't have a mark
so I can't Google to find out any information about him.

The detail is beautiful and I love his pretty French blue color.

There was something broken off of cupids hand, which I think was a tiny song bird
since there's an empty cage.
I added a porcelain rose to hide the broken spot.

I love the detail on cupid's feet.

Cupids quiver ~ A quiver is a container for arrows.

One of cupids wings is broken off so I add a little ivy to hide it.

Plate I found at The Squirrels nest in town. Mark on bottom~
Collection Sevres (inspired by eighteenth century sevres
porcelain) Andrea by Sedaek. 1996

My china goes well with the clock I think.

I found four saucers and three cups at the thrift store
Noritake China~ Ivanhoe

A close up of the detail.

Mark on the bottom of the cup.

My little blue birdie looks so good sitting on the plate.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a happy valentines Day
~Clara
