A Blue And White Tea

"Ahh, the wide almond groves in full white flower
Stunning in the morning sun.
Old naked Winter in his garb of grays and browns has run.
Forsythia blooms come and go in the blink of a yellow Eye,
Then, suddenly, mysteriously, Green erupts; and we sigh."

- Michael P. Garofalo,

This weekend Spring has finally arrived. I'm going to enjoy it while I can
because here, Summer comes way too soon...Hot and humid.
I worked in the garden cleaning it up and planting new rose
bushes and vines. Confederate Jasmine to grow on my arbor.
A Lady Banks and a new Knock-Out Rose- a pretty pink.
Today I'm having tea with some of my blue and white
collection. I've been inspired by two little glass
birds that I found at an antique shop in town.
Their silver color looks so pretty with the blue and white and
They add a little sparkle.
Won't you please join me for a cup of tea?

Hi Clara, as you probably can guess blue and white china is a personal favourite of mine....and transferware as well! The little mercury glass birds are adorable....I can imagine how lovely your tea will be...glad to hear you Spring has arrived there! N.xo

Clara, your blue and white makes me smile. I live in TX, so I know all too well how soon summer arrives. We are already in the 80s. Too soon for those high temps. Thanks for sharing your pretty tea setting.

What a delight to visit here today--I even showed my husband as he shares my love of blue and white. Your little birds are sweet and inspiring. I see we have the same little Dutch houses (previous post). And why am I not surprised that you are fan of Tasha Tudor! Have a great week!

Hi Clara
Nice to hear what you're doing in your garden already; I can start doing winter clean up now that it' s in the 40's.
Blue and silver are nice together and I have metal silver birds like yours that I pair with cobalt blue.

Blue and white china is an absolute classic and one that is my favourite. I am really glad you are able to get out and do the gardening. Gladdens the soul doesn't it?! (unless like me yesterday, the patio door decided to shatter because it couldn't take the sun's rays??!!!). Take care. Chel x

Hi Clara,
your tea time table looks so fresh and inviting with the blue and white china. And the little birds really say spring to me. Spring is arriving here very late now. We are so waiting for warm temperatures. Thank you for sharing this nice tea time.

Love your blue and white and your silver birds! I love jasmine. Our last home had star jasmine all over. I loved the scent, but it doesn't do well in this northern climate. Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Hi Clara,
I was also preparing a blue and white tea but then I switched to something else... mostly blue and white, in fact! :)
This Blue Nordic by JG Meakin is very similar to other makers' Blue Onion and I love it! And that Spode plate is a perfect match!
Thanks for sharing these beauties.
Have a great week!
