Oh Little Birdie

When on a Summer's Morn

"When on a summer's morn I wake,
And open my two eyes,
Out to the clear, born-singing rills
My bird-like spirit flies.

To hear the Blackbird, Cuckoo, Thrush,
Or any bird in song;
And common leaves that hum all day
Without a throat or tongue.

And when Time strikes the hour for sleep,
Back in my room alone,
My heart has many a sweet bird's song --
And one that's all my own."
~ William Henry Davies  via

Today I'm sharing something new for teatime.
A little birdie creamer that I purchased from
my garden club. It is stoneware and was made
by one of our local artists.

Enjoying tea from one of my fine bone
china mugs. Made in England~Queens~Rosina China Co.

I found this birdsnest at a little gift shop in North Carolina.
Oregano and  Lavender are in the pots in the background.

Hi Clara,
What a darling birdie creamer! I have one too but not nearly as sweet as yours. Pretty tea mug, and I always love a bird's nest. Thank you, my friend, for sharing and joining me for tea.

Blessings,
Sandi

That's a cute creamer Clara, and the beak would make a very good pouring spout. Talented person, and a nice addition to your tea things.

Dear Clara,
What a tweet post. I love that the birdie pitcher was handmade my someone. He is darling and your mug is lovely too. I love my thousand-million cups and saucers but I really prefer to drink my tea out of a mug-bone china only like your lovely one.
Nice poem to go along with it too.
Best, Ruthie from Lady B's Time for Tea
