Teacups And Pink Camellias

The flowers of late winter

and early spring occupy places

in our hearts well out of

proportion to their size.

~Gertrude S. Wister

Hello everyone,  How was your week? Mine was great.
We had beautiful weather here, sunny and in the seventies.
Just last week we had a severe ice storm. It damaged many
of our trees and left us without power. We we're so
lucky to have a gas fireplace which kept us warm
thru the outage.

One of my favorite flowers that blooms at this time
of year is the Camellia Japonica. This one is a formal
double and I love it's gorgeous pink color.

I thought this color looked pretty with some
of my tea cups so I played with my camera
a little bit. China, flowers and pearls look
so romantic together.

Camellia oracle of winter bliss
You are the promise of springs renewal
Midst the slumbering landscape
Like winters splendid jewel

 Your miracle of life
So delicate and so sweet
You adorn Victorian homes
Upon these earthly streets

The beauty of your elegance
Your fragile blossom lingers
The softness of your petals
Pass through my waiting fingers

 I celebrate your symmetry
Your absolute perfection
Creation of that Life divine
You are but God's reflection

You are a life long lesson
A song that's ever sung
From the deepest winter spell
You bring forth the morning sun

Thank you for stopping by.

Clara, your photos are stunning. I love camellias. We have five rather large camellias on one side of our house. I always think of Emily Whaley when I see camellias.

Happy Pink Saturday, my friend.♥

Good morning Clara,
How fortunate you are to have lovely camellias. That flower you show is so exquisite. Dare I say, it almost doesn't look real~it is so perfect. So pretty with your china and pearls. Great photography and words to accompany them.

The peach camellia matches the one teacup perfectly. I'm glad you had a gas fireplace to keep warm while your power was out, ours would be our saving grace too in the same predicament.

I love camellias. Used to live in a warmer climate where we grew them. They are so beautiful! Love your pretty teacups...romantic indeed. We actually had a dusting of snow...unusual for us. Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Those are beautiful tea cups Clara and I agree they go so well with pink camellias and pearls. I completely agree with Gertrude Wister because I keep running around the garden looking at my aconites and snowdrops and willing the crocuses on. Oh my goodness they are so precious. I think though, that by the time my pink camellias bloom, I might be over the precious winter blooms stage and the millions of blossoms will become a nuisance as they fall all over the ground and front porch...lol. No...just kidding. I love my pink camellias. Hope your week is shaping up to be a great one. :)
